I was heavy into different studies like mysticism and the occult, and it occurred to me that a lot of modern-day movies featured quite obvious occurrences of mysticism and occult symbolism....to expose the mainstream audience to conspiracy theories and therefore ridicule said theories in order to enforce the status quo. And secondly, to reach out and send messages to those in-the-know....Call me paranoid, but the movie industry strikes me as the perfect and most convenient way of delivering messages to the masses. A brainwashing campaign, if you will.

Can't say I ever had an interest in the occult and mysticism until after I became a shaman. But so much of "psychic" history and allegories are wrapped up in it that I couldn't avoid it in my quest for knowledge. I was more than a bit dismayed when this Kabbalistic path turned out to be part of my vision quest... I knew very little about it.

But the mistakes the "occultists" are making in interpretations now strike me a being very, very funny mostly. It took me about 2 years to unfold the Kabbalistic Tree of Life into the Tree of Knowledge, mainly waiting for information to surface and about another 4 years for me to realize that this is what I had done! Geschockt I'm seriously considering attaching a rope to myself when I go "in", the body's had a tendency to get away from me a couple of times (grin). Lachend Remember Icarus. Geschockt

The Holy Woods are so off at times as well as appearing to be close to the mark at times. I don't watch commercial network TV or movies anymore anyway. My shaman was very upset by the movie "Dreamcatcher" as a total misportrayal of this device and what it does. I can attest to its very impressive assistance in visioning, especially with Akashic record retrieval, mother earth consciousness.

I guess I was pretty fortunate in finding two other fellow shamans who were looking for a raven to complete their vision quest configuration (Micmac, Northern Cree tradition - heh, heh, it takes a trinity to seek a Trinity). We each had the same transformative historical vision and our quest is dubbed "Into the Red Skies of Fire!". Nice to see that some archeological theories are approaching awareness of this historical world wide event.

While each of us had a deficiency at the beginning, each can now do all the 5 elements. I had trouble with fire, the Owl with water and the Coyote with air/sky and we were all naturals in the ether. The other two have partial pineal openings at the moment, I'm the first to open mine up fully (raven goes first, and if he survives and lives ...). Mind you, when the lights come on, the first thing one starts hunting for is the dimmer switch! Lachend ... and other humans. Geschockt

Have fun! Lachend

Hey Greg,

I have to admit that your stories are intriguing. I've never heard of real-life shamen before, and I didn't think the vision quests were an actual thing. Do they require the consumption of drugs or other mind-altering substances? Or are these visions real?

Thanks,
Frosty

Some shamans use ethneogens, some don't. I've done things with kaneh bosm, drunk and straight.

The vision isn't real, its a vision. However it may feel real and look real. If the vision controls you to the point that you can't get out of it or handle it, you'll go insane or schizophrenic (especially from one's own subconscious current memory dump). Estimates include about 1/3 of shamans dying in transition; unnecessary and unacceptably high.

The vision can be of the past, present or future. It can take the form of remote viewing, akashic record retreival or astral projection/OBE. There don't seem to be any distance constraints unless self imposed. If for a specific quest, the vision and experience will or can be short. If for exploring, it can last weeks. I've still got a little more exploring to do, want to revisit all the "parrallel worlds" I've visited and have settled, for the most part, on the abilities I'm personally going to try to develop an at will capability for. My choices centre around anti-gravity and related effects and one's internal caduceus "snakes". Its built into our minds and bodies, like a muscle that's atrophied from not being used. A little excercise....

I'd take more choices if I was a younger man, but I'm very late into the game, so to speak, so I have to be realistic about my chances, options and timeframe to develop these innate skills. Abilities vary by individual and custom, as is usual. Unfortunately (grin) there doesn't seem to be any way around the spiritual mindset one has to call on. Cool

Have fun! Zwinkern
