There's no doubt that Phobos is an anomalous object, with its orbit around Mars being way too close for its supposed density. Some have imagined it to be completely hollowed-out, with its grooves covering its entire surface a relic of a past mining project. Russia's Phobos II mission has also sent back some weird images of Phobos and its surroundings, followed by a complete shutdown.

And now Iapetus, with its odd resemblance to Star Wars' Death Star. It features a 12-mile high straight "wall" running along its equator. Half of its surface is covered by blackened material while the other half is white. Richard Hoagland published an article this week about an "analysis" of some surface features which he says look to be artificial.
