I would love to see an actual meeting in Holland, though judging the activity on these boards I am not sure if this will ever work.

Okay here goes;

myself I live in Ambacht. To me the best locations for a meeting would be,
- Rotterdam
- Dordrecht
(only mentioning large cities)

To get this all organised I think it would be best if anyone interested to come would leave his e-mail adress and preferred location here.
I assume that Sundays would be best for everyone, but we are yet far away from choosing a date!

Please leave your email adress and a location in Holland if you are interested, I hope we could get atleast 10 persons for a meeting.

If for any reason I stop visiting these boards, then make sure you e-mail me too whenever a meeting is;

ki-intensity@japan.com

I'll come even if it takes a year for 10 people to post.

Hey Stefan, Sehr glücklich

You are the first person from holland to show some interest in the topic (well at least on our forum)! Lächeln I am the editor of the youth page in the german-speaking magazine legendary times (Sagenhafte Zeiten) and it would be cool to hear more from you in future! I am surprised about your website, your positive motivation etc.! I myself live in Maastricht and I like your idea to organize a meeting or something similar in Holland! Frech As you might have heard though the next BIG thing for the AAS Next Generation to come up is the AAS WORLD(!) Congress in Interlaken  (2.10.-5.10.2003)! The world congress only takes place every 4 years and all lectures will be simultaneously translated into english or German (of course interesting international speakers will be present at the conference). I am thinking about leaving on October 1st already, am still not sure though as some friends from Maastricht are thinking about joining me. I don't know whether we still do have space in the car (in case my friend is driving) as we only have a very small car at hand. But I know that there are some other Dutch people subscribed to this website...it would be interesting to ask them to join? We could organize a Dutch group to come to the event or something like that...let me know what you think about it.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Gaby Zwinkern

I know about the World Conference...but it is very expensive Traurig Plus it's during school time right? I doubt I can get away from school, this is my exam year...

It's a good plan and it would be awesome to go there Lächeln I'll look up on more information about it this weekend so I can decide!

Well, if you can't miss school on friday, you might still want to think about leaving in the afternoon and attending the conference on saturday, which will be the most important day of the congress. Please check out the following link, there you can find the most recent information on the congress! Lächeln

www.sagenhaftezeiten.com  ;

I hope you can somehow manage to come, I know already that a girl from Italy is also coming, she will even ask her school to give her some credits for attending the conference, no clue how she managed THAT, but you could try! Zwinkern

Let me know whether you are coming, all right? How about sending some emails to the dutch people who are subscribed to this website?

I thing a meeting in Holland is a very good idea, becuse I live only 1km away from this cauntry and we drive to Holland ervery week .
So if you could organize it i would visit it.

I can`t drive to thr Congress because of the school too, so it would be verry good when somebody who was there coult tell me about it.
So a meeting in Holland is a great idea.

So when you can organize it I would com that is my e-mail adress :

jackgladstein@aol.com

Ok...104 euro's is manageable (I'm a poor student Cool )

It is possible for me to get my school to give me credits too; I think it's even highly possible. Lächeln My parents would support me so it should be ok.

I want to know though;

1) How many days do you intend to go there?
2) Is the 104 euro's the cost for 1 day or multiple?
3) Where will we stay the night; or is that included?

I'm afraid that costs like train to Maastricht, hotel etc. are just to much for me...

-)-(-)-(-)-(-)-(-

For a meeting in Holland we still need more people, plus a plan for what-to-do...it would be great to hold one though!
Keep posting your ideas. Will we actually need to rent some place to hold the meeting...? Or would a library do fine, combined with for example a cinema visit?

Stefan,

You are right, we need more people! Once we know that several people are interested we could start to organize...I am a little bit wary with organizing local meetings, as experience shows that in the end only VERY few people show up anyway.
But in any case we should talk about it! Let's see whether we can find some other people in Interlaken  who would like to join, I could imagine that there are also some swiss, german, austrian or people of other nationalities who are interested in visiting the netherlands...I do not think we need to actually rent a room...it is better to just meet in a nice student cafe, sometimes you can also make reservations...

Let's talk about it in Interlaken  and once we are in touch with more people we can actually start to go into details...

Stefan: 1) How many days do you intend to go there?

I advise you to arrive on thursday (october 2nd), so that you can visit the mystery park and AAS activities on friday (october 3rd). On october 4th the international speakers of the congress will address various topics in their lectures and on october 5th (sunday) people start heading back to where they came from! Lächeln

Stefan: 2) Is the 104 euro's the cost for 1 day or multiple?

Yes, the student ticket for october 3rd AND 4th costs Euro 104 => The congress fee includes the visit of the MYSTERY PARK on October 3rd: Swiss Francs 195,- (or in Euro: day's rate / about Euro 130,-). Students aged 14 to 20 years or with student identification card: Swiss Francs 155,- (or in Euro: day's rate / about Euro 104,-). Children aged 6 to 13 years: Swiss Francs 25,- (or in Euro: day's rate / about Euro 6,-). The congress fee includes: All lectures, the program booklet, containing a lot of articles and images of the research subjects - and of course the visit of the MYSTERY PARK on October 3rd.

Stefan: 3) Where will we stay the night; or is that included?

I advise you to check out the tourist office of interlaken, there you can find accommodation: www.interlakentourism.ch  ;
I guess most kids will stay at www.villa.ch , but you can also find other youth hostels such as www.balmers.ch .

Let me know whether you are coming, all right? Lächeln

groetjes,

Gaby ( next.generation@aas-fg.org&nb sp;)

I think the meeting schoul last a litle bit longer than a meet in a Caffe.
I have to drive to there more than 2 hauers and to stay in a Caffe for the same time it is to much expenditure.

It schoul last more time that we can come on one day and drive back on the oauther.

Then we have enaugh time to watch a film abaut the thema and make perhaps a few expiriments.

Read a few books and disscas there.

All right Jack, I agree! It should definitely last more than just two hours in a cafe...maybe we can get some more feedback from other people who are interested to come to a meeting. As for me I would want to ask some people in Interlaken  first, talk with them about it...see whether we can get some people interested and then we can start planning the whole thing! If I would be organizing the meeting I would like to do it in the right way, accordingly not only a few people should be present. I would like to offer a program that makes it really worth it to travel to the netherlands, also for kids outside of holland.
Hopefully some other people will show some interest, maybe even on this website! Let's wait and see...I will talk to people and collect some more ideas in Interlaken  (october 2nd)...
